Manual page breaks in tables (offer/individual invoice)

I would like to give new impetus to this initiative:
A page break within a table would not be a priority for us, especially if it is technically complicated.
Rather, a differentiated controllable change in running text would make sense.
The current placeholder “Page Break (%NEW_PAGE%)” currently causes a break from the first use in the text using the higher-level layout setting for the 2nd page. However, if this second page has been limited in width due to internal office stationery, for example, the 2nd layout also has an effect on the table that follows later. The check mark in the “Table on new (wider) page” checkbox then has no effect. The table is not displayed on a new wider page. Neither do all the automatically generated attachments.
Solution 1: two placeholders:
A placeholder for a page break while maintaining the overall layout setting for page 1 (The check mark in the “Table on new (wider) page” checkbox should be effective regardless of this)
A placeholder for a page break using the parent layout setting for page 2
Solution 2: Another layout setting
In addition to the overall layout setting for the 1st and 2nd page, another layout setting for tables and attachments is enabled

UserGroup result: Parallel PDF preview would be very helpful.

The parallel PDF preview for offers has now been implemented. You can activate it here:

We use the program https://prawnpdf.org as a technical basis for PDF generation. Unfortunately, this does not allow manual page breaks within a table.
We could change the technical basis, but that costs a lot of technical resources.

Benedikt Voigt: So that sounds like this is unfortunately extremely complex. For persistent cases, could we instead implement a clean Excel export just for the offer table as a fallback?
Arne Semmler
The Excel export of offers now only exports the offer table as such. This is intended for cases in which the offer calculation is carried out in projo (which should be the rule), but exceptionally the offer is to be submitted as an elaborate presentation or extensive document with pictures, etc. The pure offer table, which can be exported to Excel, is now much easier to process in target programs such as Publisher, Indesign, Word, Writer, Pages, etc. Please try it out and give us feedback!

In text blocks, you can already force manual page breaks using the placeholder “Page break (%NEW_PAGE%)”. This should also be possible within position descriptions in tables using the same placeholder. Alternatively, it should be possible to add a manual page break similar to a new position, at least between table lines.
